Secret “Fear Alleviator” is Revealed!
Quality Control Inspections to Ensure Our Commitment to Excellence
Building a new home or doing a major renovation or home addition can be both exciting and terrifying at the same time.
It will be wonderful to have that open floor plan, a brand-new kitchen with stunning appliances, bathrooms that look like they came out of Architectural Digest, and all the space you’ve wanted for years.
You have your design and drawings done, and handsome appliances and finishes chosen, but what if, after spending all this time and money on your project, you don’t get exactly what you wanted? What if, in the end, the space doesn’t meet your expectations? How can you be sure the quality of construction is high?
Our Secret is Revealed: We have an entire in-house division with three departments dedicated to ensuring your construction project meets and exceeds your expectations. This division is called the Quality Control Division.
At Nelson Construction and Renovations, our overall company goal is to make the environment more beautiful by building completed homes that are safely and beautifully made and exceed our client’s expectations.
This breaks down into two purposes for us: (1) To produce high-quality remodels, home additions, new builds and light commercial work all over Pinellas county and Tampa, and (2) To make the construction project pleasant and organized for our clients, so that they may enjoy the building process and have fun creating their beautiful space.
A VITAL component to our process and ensuring this happens is our Quality Control Division.
Our QC (Quality Control) Inspectors inspect every phase of construction that pass building inspection (meaning they meet building code) to ensure they also meet our standards of quality and workmanship.
After each trade has been completed (framing, drywall, electric, plumbing, flooring, etc.) and passed by the building inspector, our Site Superintendent is required to call our in-house Quality Control Inspector for a Trade Inspection.
The superintendent is not permitted to continue with the job until the Trade has been inspected on that phase of work.
Our coordination is very tight, and we strive to get the project completed on time, so our QC Inspector is on the job site in 24 hours or less to do inspections when needed.
We have a portal where our clients can track every phase of their project and see when these inspections are happening.
Another department in the Quality Control Division is correction and training. They train (and re-train) our staff to ensure our high standards are met. If the QC Inspector finds a phase of the project is subpar work, he immediately contacts the individuals involved in the work and gets them educated so the work can be corrected straight away.
This department also delivers ongoing training and seminars on all phases of construction, so our staff are up to date with the latest materials, finishes and technology.
Our Quality Control Division is just one more example of our daily commitment to excellence.
The result is happy clients. You can see this in our reviews and this testimonial from a recent completed job, “Nelson took our 20+ year dated Gulf front condo to an open concept and more. High-end design and product is now a ‘design magazine*’ feature condo. We had a great working experience with the team and highly recommend them. We love our ‘new’ home. A big shout out and thank you to the entire Nelson team!” J & B
